Caring Committee
Caring Committee

The purpose of the Caring Committee is to nurture the sense of belonging to and participation in a caring community. We support members and friends of the Fellowship who are going through milestone life events. For example, births, adoptions, deaths, and illness.

Because our Fellowship covers a very large geographic area, members/friends of our congregation are divided into six Care Ring Zones based on the town they live in, and each Zone has a Care Ring Coordinator:

  • Zone A: Alpha, Asbury, Bangor, Bethlehem, Bloomsbury, Easton, Phillipsburg, Stewartsville
  • Zone B: Califon, Glen Gardner, Hampton, High Bridge, Long Valley, Washington
  • Zone C: Annandale, Clinton, Lebanon, Piscataway, Somerville, Whitehouse Station, Somerset
  • Zone D: Milford, Mt. Pleasant, Pittstown, Riegelsville, Upper Black Eddy
Zone E: Flemington, Three Bridges, Hillsborough
  • Zone F: Baptistown, Frenchtown, Lambertville, New Hope, Ringoes, Stockton, Erwinna, Doylestown

There is no need to sign up. Members and Friends of the Fellowship are included in a Care Ring by virtue of where they live.

When someone in our congregation has a need for care due to a significant event (e.g. failing health, death or illness of a family member, surgery, birth, adoption or fostering of a child, a move, etc..) the Care Ring Coordinator of that “Zone” will reach out to the individual in need to ask what type of assistance may be helpful to them.

Once the type(s) of need are established, the Care Ring Coordinator will send out an email alerting the members who reside in that Zone of the opportunity to help out the person in need. We realize that not everyone can help out with every need, every time, but many of our members report that they find it rewarding and meaningful to help when they can and that this deepens their connection to our Fellowship and to one another.

If you have such an event in your life or know of someone who does, email caring@www.hunterdonuu.org. The committee always strives to balance offering assistance while respecting an individual’s need for privacy.
