EVENTS

Summer services begin on June 22nd.  There is only one informal service in Dodd Hall beginning at 10:30 am.  Look for topics beginning in June.

What Is A Covenant Group?

Covenant Groups are on-going, intimate, structured, small reflection circles. Currently eight groups, under the care of trained lay minister-facilitators, meet monthly. Look for more information in the monthly newsletter, on the FUUFHC website (www.hunterdonuu.org), or contact Jenny Denlinger for further details.

Depression Support Group will take place on the third Monday of the month from 7-8 pm.  There will be no group over the summer.

The Membership Committee is currently looking for Greeters for the 2008-2009 year. If you are interested in volunteering approximately once per month on Sundays, this may be right for you. Greeters welcome visitors, pass out orders of service, send around the collection baskets, and tidy-up the pews after the service. Greeting is a great way to get to know other people in the fellowship. If this interests you, please e-mail membership@hunterdonuu.org.

Genesis Discussion Group, led by Bob Janis Dillon, is a Bible study group on the Book of Genesis. It is intended for both theists and atheists, those of us who grew up with the Bible stories and those of us who are coming to them new, Literature majors and soap opera watchers (literature majors who watch soap operas doubly welcome!).

There are so many angles to approach the book of Genesis, and we will explore many of them: examining the context in which the stories may have been composed; looking at different hermeneutics of reading and interpreting the text including feminist, Womanist, physicist, psychological, Jewish, Catholic, Protestant, and Muslim readings of the work; and most of all, reading the stories for ourselves and exploring what relation they may or may not have to our own lives and spiritualities.

This will be a ten-part class, with one class every month. Participants are not required to attend every class; attend as many as you like. Each class is scheduled for the Third Thursday of every month from September through June. Please view our calendar for a more updated list of events.
