As we move forward with our fellowship’s decision to ‘Stay and Adapt’ and, in the process, to grow our congregation, we all have the job of coming up with a plan. The Board established the New (Two Full) Services Ad Hoc Committee with the goal of planning for a move to two full services in 2020 as a way to use “ …existing buildings while attempting to increase capacity.”

Take a look this video to hear what our leadership have to say about this.

To succeed, we need your input.

You will find a link to a survey here. This survey has two sections. The first is ten short-answer questions to gauge the needs of our community. The second section, which is optional, has a series of open-ended questions for you to share your feelings and ideas.

We are also scheduling feedback meetings this fall so that all members and friends will have a chance to share their thoughts and ask questions of the committee members who put this together.

Please be sure to come to one of these meetings:
Tuesday, November 5, 7:00 p.m., Dodd Hall (DH)
Wed., November 13, 7:00 p.m., Old Stone Church (OSC)
Sunday, November 17, 12:30 p.m., DH/OSC
Sunday, November 24, 1:00 p.m., DH/OSC

(Food will be available; childcare will be provided for the Sunday meeting dates.)

Based on information gained at the feedback meetings, we will develop a plan and submit it to the Board. Then a congregational meeting will be scheduled, most likely in December or early January, to vote on it. And, if the congregation votes to move forward with that plan, we will begin to hold two full services in early 2020.

We believe that this is the first step toward achieving the congregational mandate from our ‘Stay and Adapt’ vote last spring. As Rev. Seth likes to say, “We have to change how we are to stay who we are!”

So, maybe, this is how we get there from here.
