NORWESCAP Food Bank
FUUFHC partners with the NORWESCAP Food Bank to fight hunger in northwestern New Jersey. Here are ways you can help:
- Drop off canned goods and other nonperishable food in the bins just inside the door to Dodd Hall which is located next to the Old Stone Church. Protein foods are most needed. Donate any time; the bins are emptied regularly.
- Join other FUUFHC folks at the NORWESCAP Food Bank in Phillipsburg on the third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. till noon. The Food Bank is located at 201 North Broad Street, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. It’s a warehouse building with a wheelchair ramp out front; enter through the thrift shop. There is plenty of on-street parking. FUUFHC volunteers clean and sort food salvaged from stores and/or donated by individuals and organizations. The food is distributed to 120 food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters. All ages of volunteer are welcome. Children should be able to work for about three hours. It’s a great activity for families, teens, covenant groups or RE classes, and it is a great way for people new to FUUFHC to get to know others. Give it a try! You must RSVP to get on a crew. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out when there will be room for you.
