Social Action Committee

What Kind of Social Action is for you?

After a year of working with the Interfaith Hospitality Network and three years of working with the NORWESCAP Food Bank, it’s time for us to figure out how to make these lay ministries even more effective. We would like to broaden our fellowship’s participation: have more people trained and ready to serve when needed.

Whether you have been volunteering and have some ideas on how to work out certain kinks in the system, or you are brand new and just want to pop in and see what kinds of social justice work are available, we welcome you!

We’d also like to hear from people who are doing social justice work on their own. We’re working on developing a way for individuals in the fellowship to share their social action experiences with the rest of the congregation, so that people who aren’t hooked up with a volunteer organization can possibly find a niche to explore.

If you’d like more information on any of these projects or about other ways to get invovled, contact Mike Houston at (908)735-0088 or mhouston@patmedia.net.
